Sanhe City, affiliated to Hebei Province, is hosted by Langfang City. It is located at the border between Beijing and Tianjin, and is only one river away from Beijing. It is the county-level enclave with the largest land area and the highest administrative level in China. It is 25 kilometers away from the Capital Airport in the northwest and has jurisdiction over the east and west urban areas.
Sanhe established the county in the fourth year of Tang Kaiyuan (716 AD). In 1993, the county was approved by the State Council to set up a county. It borders Jizhou District in Tianjin in the east, Pinggu District in Beijing in the north, and Shunyi District in the northwest. The Chaobai River faces Beijing’s Tongzhou District in the west, Dachang Hui Autonomous County in the southwest, Xianghe County in the south, and Baodi District in Tianjin in the southeast.
Sanhe City is located in the alluvial plain in front of the Yanshan Mountains, with an area of 634 square kilometers. The mountains and rivers are interdependent, and the fertile fields are connected. The 102 National Road runs through it. Two electrified railways, Beijing-Qin and Daqin, run from east to west. The population is 710,200 people.
