Meishan, a prefecture-level city in Sichuan Province, is named after Mount Emei. Located in the southwest of Chengdu Plain in the Sichuan Basin, in the middle reaches of the Minjiang River. Meishan is adjacent to Neijiang, Zigong and Ziyang, with Leshan in the south, Ya’an in the west, and Chengdu in the north; the overall topography is high in the west and low in the east, and low in the south. The city has a total area of ​​7,134 square kilometers and has 2 districts and 4 counties; in 2017, the registered population was 3.504 million.
