Guichi District, a district under the jurisdiction of Chizhou City, Anhui Province, is located in the south of Anhui Province, on the south bank of the lower Yangtze River, with a total area of 2,516 square kilometers. The main rivers are Huanghuan River, Qiupu River, Longshu River, Baiyang River, Jiuhua River, Qingtong River, etc. Guichi District belongs to the sub-hot monsoon humid climate zone, with mild climate, moderate rainfall and sufficient sunlight. It has jurisdiction over 10 streets and 9 towns, with a permanent population of 636,000 in 2019.
In August 1988, with the approval of the State Council, Guichi withdrew from the county and became a city; in June 1994, Guichi was approved by the State Council as a city open to the outside world; in December 2000, Guichi withdrew from the city to build a district. The Yangtze River traverses 76 kilometers across the region, and is open to 5,000-ton ships throughout the year. It is a national first-class waterway. Guichi District, Dawang Cave, known as the first cave in East China, Qishan-Qiupu Wonderland, a provincial-level scenic spot, the only ancient Xinghua Village in the country with a village aspiration, Xiaokeng, a national-level ecological economy demonstration village, and a provincial-level wetland nature reserve Eighteen cables and other scenic spots.
In 2019, Guichi District achieved a regional GDP of 33.505 billion yuan, an increase of 8.3% at comparable prices. From the perspective of industrial composition, the added value of the primary industry was 3.458 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6%; the added value of the secondary industry was 14.404 billion yuan, an increase of 11.1%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 15.643 billion yuan, an increase of 6.8%.
