Liangzhou District, formerly known as Yongzhou, Guzang, Xiutu, and Tuge, belongs to Wuwei City, Gansu Province. It is located in the middle of Gansu Province, the eastern end of the Hexi Corridor, and the middle of Wuwei City. It is the most populous county-level administrative district in Gansu Province. As of August 2020, Liangzhou District has a total area of 4907.1 square kilometers, governs 37 towns, 2 ecological construction headquarters, and 8 urban neighborhood offices. It is home to 38 ethnic groups including Han, Tibetan, Hui, and Mongolia, with a total population 1.0397 million, with a permanent population of 1.0165 million.
Liangzhou District is located in northwestern China, at the east end of the Hexi Corridor, and in the middle of Wuwei City. It is the key point of the ancient Silk Road. The important commercial town of “Song and the sun”, since Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty opened up the four counties of Hexi, successive dynasties have set up prefectures here, and it is known as the “Five Liang Ancient Capital, the Metropolis of Hexi” in history.
